Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula has said the June 7 National Prayer Breakfast will bring together leaders from diverse sectors of society.

In a statement on Monday, Wetang'ula said the event will help unite the country.

"The primary aim of this event is to bring together leaders from diverse sectors of society, fostering an inclusive environment where they can unite in prayer for the nation's welfare," he said.

Wetang'ula and Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi debriefed President William Ruto on the progress of the preparation ahead of the event.

The two are part of the Prayer Breakfast Organizing Committee.

"Overseeing the successful execution of this significant gathering is wholeheartedly devoted to making this event a reality."

The theme of the prayer breakfast is ‘Reconciliation with God and with Man’.

The National Prayer Breakfast was supposed to be held on May 31 but was later rescheduled to June 7.

In a statement last week on Tuesday, National Assembly Speaker said that the change was occasioned by factors beyond control.

"This is to inform you that the 20th National Prayer Breakfast which was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 31st May 2023 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, 7th June 2023," the statement read.

Wetang’ula regretted the changes and apologized to Kenyans for the inconvenience caused.

The event will be held at Safari Park Nairobi and will be graced by more than 2,500 guests.

During the event, the leaders are expected to address issues that are currently affecting Kenyans.
