Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has urged retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to hire a lawyer and pay for Gachuo's fines if he is arraigned.

This is after police in Nairobi detained the Bunge la Wananchi president Calvin Okoth alias Gaucho for questioning.

"Uhuru should hire a lawyer and pay Gauchos's fines if he is serious about fighting for Jubilee," Alai tweeted.

"Gaucho is under arrest but we will have him get proper legal representation. We need to see a serious battery of lawyers. Gaucho recently rescued Jubilee."

Central Police Station OCPD Doris Kimeli told the Star on Tuesday that they detained the Raila supporter because there are issues they wanted to confirm with him.

This came a day after he allegedly made some demeaning remarks against some leaders during the Jubilee National Delegates Convention held on Monday, at the Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.

Gaucho has been instrumental in championing the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya agenda in Nairobi.

At the Jubilee NDC, Uhuru Kenyatta promised to buy him lunch for Gaucho when they meet next time for supporting him in the ‘fight’ to secure Jubilee.

“Even you Gaucho the next time we meet, I will buy you lunch, don’t worry. You came to defend the party’s property,” Uhuru said.
