Makueni county to host first ever mango national conference

Theme for the conference is 'Winning markets for Kenyan mangoes.'

Makueni County will hold the first ever mango national conference and exhibition in the country between May 16 and 18 at Wote Police Grounds.

This comes after the county was nominated by Horticultural Crops Development Authority (HCDA) in Kenya for being the largest  mango producer in Kenya.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr said the theme for the conference is 'Winning markets for Kenyan mangoes.'

"I am proud to say that Makueni County will be the first county to hold the mango conference in Kenya," he said.

In a statement, the governor said guests will be around to address the concerns of mango farmers from the processing point to value addition phase.

Invitees include mango farmers and those who are processing mangoes from various mango-producing counties.
