Ruto nominates CASs to Gachagua, Mudavadi office

Nominees will now be vetted by the National Assembly

President William Ruto for the first time in history allocated CASs to the office of the Deputy President and the Prime Cabinet Secretary. 

In the list of 50 nominees, three CAS will work under Rigathi Gachagua while three others will be under Musalia Mudavadi. 

Ann Mwangi, Nicholas Rioba and Edwin Wandambusi have been nominated to serve under Rigathi's office. 

Former nominated MP Isaac Mwaura, Sharif Ali and Rehema Hassan after Parliament approval will serve in Mudavadi's office.

The nominees will now be vetted by the National Assembly before being appointed by the President. 

Their roles entail responding to issues touching on the portfolio assigned to the office and providing liaison with the bicameral Parliament and county governments on matters of concurrent mandate and common interest.

Others nominated in various offices are; ex-nominated senator Millicent Omanga who will serve as CAS at the Ministry of Interior and National Administration alongside Mohamud Ali and Samuel Tunai. 

Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero will serve in the Ministry of Investment and Trade, alongside Lilian Tomitom and Vincent Mogaka.
