Babu Owino retains Young Parliamentarians SG seat

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has retained his seat as the Secretary-General for the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association.

Young leaders in Parliament held elections for the 13th Parliament, ushering in a new team of leaders.

Anthony Buluma will serve as CEO, Molo MP Kuria Kimani will be the patron and will be deputized by Kisii County MP Donya Doris.

KYPA is a body that was formed in 2004 as an association of the 9th parliament with the goal of building capacity.

Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi was elected chairperson. 

Garissa County MP Udgoon Siyad and Keiyo South MP Gideon Kimaiyo will serve as vice chairpersons.

"Nominated Senator Essy Okenyuri and Mark Mwenje are the Vice secretary generals, under Owino who is the SG," a digital card reads.

Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian is the association treasurer.

Hezena will be deputized by Muranga MP Betty Maina and Kaiti MP Joshua Kimilu.

"The Association has two Organizing Secretaries, Starehe MP Amos Mwago and Gitonga Mukunji," the card reads.

The two will be deputized by Yatta MP Robert Basil. 

KYPA's Chief Whip is Nyandarua Senator John Methu and will be deputized by Nominated MP Irene Mayaka.

Emgwen MP Josses Lelmengit and Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi are members of the executive committee.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja was the  KYPA Chairman when he was  Senator of Nairobi County.

Vincent Musau, who was then Mwala MP  served as the vice chairman and one of the youngest MPs in the 12th Parliament.
