100 students with disabilities to get KCB scholarships

Half of the targeted beneficiaries will be female students

KCB Foundation will offer full scholarships for four years of secondary education to 100 students with physical challenges.

The group will be part of 1,000 students that will benefit from a programme that is targeting 50 per cent females.

In an advert, KCB Foundation announced it will be conducting interviews for its 2023 class across counties.

"Interviews will be conducted in all counties on 13 and 14 January in selected learning institutions," read the advert.

"KCB Foundation provides high school education scholarships for bright but marginalised and disadvantaged boys and girls, teenage mothers, girls rescued from early marriages, boys from areas affected by cattle rustling, FGM champions and areas with high poverty indexes."

The foundation also provides psychosocial support.

Meanwhile, the process to select beneficiaries of the Wings to Fly scholarship programme has already started.

Students who are expected to join Form 1 in February will have an opportunity to be selected and attend interviews.

Beneficiaries should have scored 350 marks and above.

The Wings to Fly program is a partnership between Equity Group Foundation and Equity Bank.

The program receives additional financial support from other partners notably KfW, Mastercard Foundation, USAID, UKAid, private institutions and individuals.

Since 2010, the program has grown to offer 20,009 scholarships.

The scholarship is a comprehensive secondary school scholarship program for academically gifted but financially challenged children from all counties in Kenya.

The scholarship program is now in its 13th year.
