Renown lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has urged President William Ruto to reveal the names of the shareholders of the Nairobi Expressway.

The lawyer took to Twitter on Friday morning saying the President can't afford to cover up what he termed as scams the former president Uhuru Kenyatta played on taxpayers.

"Ruto can't afford to cover up the many scams his predecessor, Uhuru's administration, played on taxpayers," Abdullahi said.

The lawyer said Kenyans ought to know whether the previous regime got 15 per cent equity as kickbacks from the project.

"He must disclose to Kenyans who are the shareholders of the Expressway and whether members of the previous administration got 15 per cent equity as kickbacks," he said.

Previously, the lawyer had said he will only use the Nairobi Expressway when Roads CS Kipchumba Murkomen reveals the project's shareholders.

“Murkomen, I'm still boycotting the Nairobi expressway because the true shareholders are hiding behind some faceless Chinese nominees,” he tweeted.

“When are you sharing the true shareholders and the entire agreements...so that I can be using the expressway?”

Murkomen had said his ministry was the captain of state capture in the former administration, which had taken to commit to too many projects.

“I'm shocked because the state capture was living in my ministry. Just discovered there was a contract signed at the port of Mombasa,” he said.
