He said that working may make people tired, irritable and isolate them from family.

Omollo added that workaholics' career and their well-being will benefit from letting off some steam and catching a break.

"The constant cycle of exhaustion could be just the one thing killing your productivity," he said.

"Vacations help in revitalising and will help you to focus on relationships which you may have neglected because of the demanding job."

Workaholics should delegate duties to their junior colleagues or assign a dependable person to take over the duties to have a free mind while on vacation.

"They should avoid taking additional tasks and should refrain from saying yes to additional work and go on that vacation," he said.

For workaholics to enjoy holidays, they should inform their workmates that they are taking a break to avoid disturbance on work-related issues.

"Workaholics should fully immerse themselves into the full relaxation mode, you are likely to miss out on important fun moments if you constantly check your phone to see if everything is going in well at work," he said.

Taking time for yourself is the most important way to stay healthy as a full-time working professional.

A vacation will help you come back to work with ease and a fresh mind.

A time off might just be one of the best things your body might be wanting.
