The First Session of the 13th National Assembly came to a close on Thursday.

The House adjourned for a recess for the Christmas and New Year festivities until February 14, 2023.

The session started on September 8 when the lawmakers were sworn in.

However, National Assembly speaker Moses Wetangula hinted that the MPs may be called up for a special sitting soon.

The lawmakers are expected to hold the sitting next week to approve the nominees for the Commission on Revue Allocation(CRA).

The term of the CRA commissioners ended on Wednesday.

"Let's hope that as we go through Christmas, the stress that our country has been having, lack of food and water is something that as leaders we must empathise with Kenyans," Wetangula said.
