Parliament to vet PSs from November 14

PSs are vetted by respective parliamentary committees

Principal Secretaries nominated by President William Ruto will be vetted from Monday, November 14 to 18. 

This is after the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula received the list of nominees from President Ruto. 

On Tuesday, Parliament commenced the election of committee chairpersons and their deputies, which ended on Thursday. 

This sets the stage for the various departmental committees to begin the process of vetting the PSs.

Cabinet Secretaries are vetted by the Committee on Appointments chaired by National Assembly speaker.

The Health Committee chaired by Endebes MP Robert Pukose will vet nominee Peter Tum(Medical Services) and Josephine Mburu of Health Standards and Professional Management.

The Committee in National Administration chaired by Narok  South MP Gabriel Tongoyo will approve Interior PS nominee Raymond Omollo.

The ccommittee will also vet PSs Julius Bitok(Citizen services) and Caroline Nyawira of Correctional Services.

Defence and Intelligence Committee chaired by Belgut MP Nelson Koech will process PS nominee Patrick Mariro.

Other committees will also vet PSs nominated to their relevant ministry departments.

Tinderet MP Julius Meli-led Education Committee will vet Belio Kipsang(Basic Education), Esther Muhoria (Technical Education) and Beatrice Inyangala( Higher Education).

The committee of Finance and National Planning will vet National Treasury PS nominee Chris Kiptoo and James Muhati of Economic Planning.
