Prime Cabinet Secretary nominee Musalia Mudavadi said Kenya ought not to borrow for recurrent expenditure.

Speaking while being vetted by MPs on Monday, Mudavadi said the repayment method should not inconvenience government activities.

"We must borrow prudently so that the debt repayment process does not harm other activities of the government. We should not be borrowing to deal with our recurrent expenditure, we should be borrowing so that we can engage in serious capital development whether it is infrastructure, water, or health," he said.
