The ministry of education is set to train Grade 1,2 and 3 teachers on English and Kiswahili this month.

This is after Kenya Institute of curriculum development revised the curriculum designs and coursework for the three grades.

According to a circular from the education ministry, county directors of education have been asked to organize for venues.

The circular dated September 16 was signed by director Nereah Olick on behalf of early learning and basic education PS Julius Jwan.

"The orientation should take place between September 19 and September 23 during the school break," the circular reads.

The ministry will only train teachers from public primary schools.

"The lead trainers should prepare a zonal training schedule for all the zones in your county," the statement reads.

The circular directed to county directors of education further asked that the CDEs ensure the orientation is effective.

"The purpose of this circular therefore is to request you to organize the training venues and invite the teachers for the same," the circular reads.
