A poster has emerged on social platforms indicating that Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has been nominated as Azimio la Umoja's presidential running mate.
The same poster indicates that President Uhuru Kenyatta will be the prime minister once the outfit wins the Presidency in the August 9, polls.
The poster went viral on social media shortly after ODM leader Raila Odinga was endorsed as the Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate.
Fact-checker has however established that it is fake.
First, President Uhuru has not announced interest in being the prime minister after the August polls.
Uhuru has made it clear that he will retire once his term expires.
Therefore, any communication purporting to say that Uhuru will be PM in the Azimio government is fake, at least for now.
Secondly, Azimio La Umoja is yet to unveil its presidential running mate or any other posts it will create once it forms the next government.
So far, the outfit has only announced its presidential candidate who is Raila.
Uhuru, who is the patron of the coalition, said on Saturday that they will unveil the running mate in due course.
"I want to thank my brother Kalonzo for agreeing to support Raila. We now have a presidential candidate. We will continue to engage on the other remaining roles in due course," Uhuru said.
The statement was a confirmation that talks were still underway for the seat of the DP.
Kenyans should therefore disregard posts purporting to unveil the Azimio lineup unless it's from the Azimio communications team, campaign secretariat or from the Azimio leaders themselves.
The Azimio La Umoja presidential secretariat communications director is Denis Onsarigo while the spokesperson is Lawyer Makau Mutua.
Kenyans are advised to confirm with their social handles the authenticity of such materials.
