Former Kesses MP Swarup Mishra has termed it as an "unfortunate witch hunt" following the listing of his multi-million property for sale.

Reacting to the list through his Facebook account, the former lawmaker however maintained that God has the ultimate say over the scheduled auction.

"Unfortunate witch-hunt incident but God has the final say," Mishra said.

Th list released by Jomuki Auctioneers stated that the auction, which was directed by its client, will take place on July 2, 2024 outside Eldoret Post Office from 11 am.

The notice contains four plots of land, all belonging to Mediheal Group Limited, which is founded by Mishra and and his wife Dr Palavi Mishra.

Of the pieces of land, one is within Blossom Area in Kiambaa-Kesses Division measuring 0.2223 acres, another at Ngeria Centre being 10.0,30.6 and 10.0 acres.

Others are two plots of land at Elgon View- Greenvale area with one measuring 1.076 acres and another at 1.086 acres.

Mishra served as Kesses MP in 2017 but lost the seat in the 2022 elections to Julius Rutto, a little known political novice who was running on a UDA ticket.

The former MP had established himself as a political powerhouse in the area but lost after he opting to contest as an independent candidate.

Mishra's perceived backing of former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio turned fodder for his rivals and he was turned into a political punching bag and singled out as a traitor.

Following his loss, his multi billion-shilling Mediheal Group of Hospitals seemed to have hit turbulence.

The Hospital, valued at Sh30 billion with five branches, with its headquarters in Eldoret, has since been on the verge of collapse due to serious financial challenges.

The giant chain's financial woes have been the stuff of the grapevine, but the magnitude of the slump became clear after MPs in the Parliamentary Health committee made a fact-finding tour of the headquarters.

The crisis started last year when some medical insurance firms suddenly withdrew partnership causing a debilitating drop in revenues.

Suppliers, who are owed millions, followed suit and stopped providing drugs and related services on credit.

"For example our daily out patient numbers in Eldoret alone dropped from more 500 patients daily to less than 60 currently," Dr Palavi told the legislators.

She dismissed the claims Mediheal was a victim of political vendetta.

"Our current predicament is not in relation to our technical capacity to offer services, but more to do with finances."
