The fire brigade from Kericho Friday responded to a fire incident that broke out after a lorry carrying LPG overturned along Londiani-Muhoroni Road in the Lesirwo area.

Police said road users informed them of the incident in time before they reached out to the fire brigade who responded promptly.

By about 8 am, there was smoke emanating from the lorry that had overturned scaring road users.

The driver of the lorry said he was transporting LPG gas from Mombasa heading to Kisumu when he lost control of the vehicle prompting it to overturn.

As a result, the LPG gas started leaking and caused fire.

Police arrived at the scene minutes later and managed to control the flow of vehicles.

Fire engines rushed to the scene to contain the spread of the fire.
