A case in which the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has sued the Supreme Court over the decision it made to bar Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi from appearing before it will be heard today.

The LSK lodged its petition at the Milimani law Courts, saying the decision by the Apex court was unfair and unreasonable.

Through advocate, Gitau Singh, the Society argued that the court condemned the senior counsel, his employees or any other person holding brief for him, without affording them an opportunity to be heard despite the ‘serious nature of the allegations and veracity of the decision’.

Kiambu Court to sentence former MCA

Kiambu court is set to sentence former Ruiru MCA after being found guilty of dousing his wife in acid leading to her death.

Also to be sentenced are two others also convicted over the murder.

EX-MCA Samuel Njoroge was found guilty of the murder of Lucy Njambi,   on January 24, 2018.

Njambi’s body was doused in acid. Evidence produced in court by the prosecution showed that her attacker doused her face and whole body with the corrosive liquid; and did it so thoroughly that her entire body suffered burns.

In convicting Njoroge and his co-accused, Justice Ngugi said the evidence was plain and clear that the former MCA  was an excessively jealous and insecure husband who had previously physically assaulted Njambi.
