Catholics mark Good Friday

Catholic faithful on Friday marked Good Friday by the way of the cross.

Several processions had volunteers who assumed the role of Jesus by carrying a cross during the procession.

Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and is a solemn day in many Christian traditions.

The day comes after Holy Week, in which Christians remember the life of Christ.

2024 WRC shakedown

There was a shakedown on Wednesday at Loldia as Kenyan drivers embarked on the rally which will culminate with the Wolf Power Stage at Hell’s Gate on Sunday.

During a shakedown, drivers test various set-ups on their cars before the race.

Karan was the leading Kenyan on shakedown as he returned 14th fastest while Tundo and Samman came 17th and 18th respectively.

Tinina's final journey

A sombre mood engulfed the Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi morning at the late Journalist Rita Tinina’s requiem mass was held.

The mass marked the beginning of Tinina’s final journey.

The service brought together Tinina’s family, friends and the media fraternity.

Tinina was on Wednesday laid to rest at her family home in Olokirikirai, Narok County.

Heavy rainfall leaves a trail of destruction

Nairobians were on Monday left to wade through flooded streets as heavy Sunday overnight downpours wreaked havoc.

The rains which started on Sunday evening went on throughout the night, rendering several roads impassable.

Nairobi county workers were seen busy trying to unclog the drainage system to help drain all stagnant water.

Chira laid to rest

Renowned TikToker Brian Chira was buried on Tuesday at his family's home in Gathanje, Ingitei village, Githunguri in Kiambu County.

Hundreds of mourners, mainly young social media enthusiasts, attended the burial.

Hundreds turned up for the collection of his body at the Kenyatta University mortuary and followed the procession to his burial site.

Ruto in full Safari Rally drivers' gear

President William Ruto on Thursday stepped out clad in full Safari Rally drivers' gear, ahead of the flag-off from the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

The much-anticipated WRC Safari Rally Kenya officially started on Thursday.

The rally will feature an impressive lineup of 29 drivers.

The JW Marriott Nairobi officially opened 

Ruto presided over the opening of the JW Marriott Nairobi.

The President described the JW Marriott hotel chain as an iconic and award-winning multinational hotel.

He said the hotel signals the net result of the country's steady push for a facilitative business climate.
