Residents in Kameril village, Arror ward in Elgeyo Marakwet county, have apprehended a woman who was caught milking neighbours' cows at night.
Judy Kemboi, the owner of the cow, raised concerns about the milk theft saying it has been happening since November last year.
She said after suspecting that someone was milking her cows, she started being vigilant at night and eventually caught the woman in the act on Tuesday.
She said the theft had also affected other dairy farmers in the area.
Area assistant chief Samuel Cheboi said the matter had been reported to him. He assured residents that appropriate measures would be taken against the suspect.
The villagers called for punitive measures against the suspect to deter a repeat of the same.
