Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has once again claimed that UDA Secretary General Celophas Malala is unfit and incompetent to hold the position.

Speaking on Thursday, the UDA MP said that Malala couldn't match his counterpart Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna of the ODM party

"Edwin Sifuna understands his job description as the Secretary General, ours, Cleophas Malala doesn't. You cannot match the two," Barasa said during an interview on K24.

"When comparing the performance of a particular individual, you compare him in terms of how he has responded to propaganda. Have you ever heard Malala anywhere defending the government?" he posed.

He went ahead and explained that an SG of a party is similar to an Evangelist and their work is to preach to people, confess the party's political faith and bring people to the party.

However, looking at Malala, the Kimilili MP claimed that every meeting he has held has turned chaotic and instead of uniting people, adding that the UDA Party SG sides with one party.

On Wednesday, Barasa accused Malala of being a mole of the Opposition and maintained he should be dismissed.

The UDA legislator further accused  Malala of inciting people from the Western region against Prime Secretary and Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula.

“You find the UDA SG convening meetings and asking Mudavadi to explain how many projects he has steered because he is a leader in the national government. He goes ahead to say the Western caucus is conducting a fundraising yet we are in government," Barasa said.

"This is opposition language and that is why we are saying Malala is a mole and should be shown the door.”

Efforts to reach the UDA SG were futile as he did not respond to the phone calls and the short text message sent to him.

Malala has been calling on Mudavadi and Wetang'ula to dissolve their ANC and Ford Kenya parties respectively and align with UDA.

Malala said this would give them a vantage point as they position themselves for the presidency in the 2032 presidential race.

However, President William Ruto said the decision for affiliate parties to merge with UDA under the ruling coalition will be by consensus not by force.

"Nimeskia wengine wetu wakisema hawa wenzetu lazima wafanye hivi  na vile, hapana. Unasema tu ni vizuri kama wangejiunga na sisi,"he said.

(I've heard some of us saying our colleagues must do this or that, no. You just say it would be better if you joined us)

The Head of State said it is through dialogue and agreements that they can persuade the Kenya Kwanza affiliate parties to join the UDA party.

"We can talk and agree so that they can come and help us be a strong party in Kenya," Ruto added.
