Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has showered his wife, Mama Ida Odinga with praises as they mark 50 years in marriage.

According to Raila, being together for five decades has brought him nothing but great joy.

The Azimio leader described Mama Ida as the bedrock and pillar of their family.

He added that celebrating the 50th anniversary alongside Ida's 73rd birthday is nothing short of 'awesome'.

"Being married to you for five decades has brought me great joy, and celebrating this milestone with your birthday was awesome. Mama Ida Odinga, please accept my heartfelt gratitude for being not only the love of my life but also the bedrock and pillar of our family," Raila said.

The event held at the Villa Rosa Kempinski also doubled up as Mama Ida Odinga's 73rd birthday.

The event saw family members, leaders, friends of the Odingas and Kenyans from all walks attend the event.

Raila and Ida have been blessed with four children; Fidel Castro Odinga (deceased), Rosemary Odinga, Raila Odinga Jnr, and Winnie Odinga.
