Ichung'wah, Cheruiyot to lead talks with Raila team

The team is mandated to engage on five point agenda agreed by both sides

Kenya Kwanza coalition has unveiled its five members who will represent it in the proposed fresh talks with the Opposition side.

The delegation will be led by  National Assembly Kimani Ichung'wah,  Aaron Cheruiyot (Senate Majority Leader), Embu Governor Cecile Mbaririe, Hassan Omar ( EALA MP)  and Bungoma Woman rep  Catherine Wambilinga.

The team will join the Azimio delegation led by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka with Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi, Eugene Wamalwa, Okong'o Omogeni and Malindi MP Amina Mnyanzi.

Kenya Kwanza in a statement on Wednesday emphasized that the team will engage with the  Azimio counterparts on five issues.

They include reconstitution of IEBC; implementation of two-thirds gender rule, entrenchment of constituency development fund, establishment and entrenchment of the Office of the Leader of the Opposition and embedment of the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Kenya Kwanza team insisted that violence shall no longer and will never be part of Kenya's political discourse.

The team also insisted that there will be no discussion on handshake with the opposition.
