A fire that had broken out in Toi Market, along Makina stage in Kibra has been contained.

The fire is reported to have started at around 9pm on Thursday before it was extinguished.

Toi Market has been prone to fires with Thursday's being the second in less than two months.

On June 11, a fire raged resulting in losses amounting to millions of shillings.

The traders were compensated earlier on Thursday by APA Insurance in partnership with Musoni Microfinance and Insurtech Turaco.

They paid over Sh1.2 million to 12 traders who suffered losses then.

"APA Insurance, as the underwriter through Turaco has worked to ensure a fast claim payout within the last month to enable the Musoni traders to embark on rebuilding their businesses," Group CEO, of Apollo Group Ashok Shah said.
