Samuel Welimo, Presiding Bishop of Hope of God Gospel Mission and National Chairman Alliance of Registered Churches of Kenya (ARCK) has said that dialogue is the only tool to solve the Ruto and Raila woes.

The opposition continues to pressurize the government to lower the high cost of living through the anti-government protests that have led to the loss of lives and destruction of property in the country.

Speaking to the Star on Sunday, Welimo said: “There is no single person now who can tell President Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga to end their woes rather than having a dialogue,” Welimo said.

In addition, Bishop Welimo joined other church leaders in asking Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Raila Odinga to consider suspending weekly demonstrations and have talks with President Ruto.

He said that in the dialogue process there will be agreement and disagreement but at the end a solution should be reached.

He said that if Azimio continues with the weekly demonstrations Kenya risks losing more people.

Welimo said that if the two had agreed to have bipartisan talks in parliament then Kenya would be at peace.

He, however, condemned protesters for destroying people’s businesses in the name of peaceful demos.

“We are very disappointed how the Azimio team is conducting the anti-government demonstrations. Businesses that offer employment opportunities to people have been vandalized,” he said.

He called  on the opposition team to allow Kenya Kwanza to implement their manifesto adding that each administration has their own ways of doing things.

He further condemned the police over brutal harassment towards protesters adding that every Kenyan has a right to peaceful demonstrations and if they loot they should be arrested following the right channels.
