Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has told off some Kenya Kwanza legislators over their attack on National Intelligence Service Director General Noordin Haji.
It follows reports that the MPs allied to President William Ruto have raised concern over haji's alleged close ties with Azimio leader Raila and former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Dear KK MPs, leave Noordin Haji Alone. He is the invisible bridge between Ruto and Raila. You should therefore stop," Ngunyi said in a tweet on Monday.
During a Cabinet meeting on July 15, the leaders reportedly accused Haji of spying for the opposition and alleged that he was pushing for a truce between Ruto and Raila.
"It should be understood that Haji has been spotted meeting with Raila Odinga and Uhuru. He should decide whether he is an Azimio politician or a public servant," Taifa Leo quoted one of the MPs present during the meeting as having said.
The paper further reported that some of the lawmakers wanted Haji's conduct debated by Senate and National Assembly over what they termed as complacency in the opposition demonstrations.
They said as a result, security officers deployed for crowd control have during the recent demonstrations been caught off guard making it hard for them to contain protesters.
The paper reported that some of the MPs wanted Haji kicked out by Parliament.
