Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had a busy week that culminated in a keynote address at this year's Nakuru Agricultural Show.

On Sunday Gachagua started the week with a morning walk where he interacted with village mates at his Mathira home.

On the same day he visited his farm in Mathira to assess the progress of his maize plantation.

"The maize plantation is a sight to behold. It is so promising. We look forward to enhance food security for our nation in two months or so. We are grateful for the rains and our hard-working farmers," Gachagua said.

On July 11, Gachagua joined President William Ruto for the issuance of title deeds to the Embakasi Ranch in Ruai.

"We will issue title deeds to the rightful land owners to secure investment," Gachagua said.

"We remain focused on delivering on the Kenya Kwanzaa Administration's promise to the people of Kenya on land ownership as a key enabler to development," he added.

The presidency proceeded to Machakos County where Ruto commissioned the Athi River Power Sub Station which was  constructed by the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (Ketraco).

" The Kenya Kwanza administration, under President Ruto, will continue improving basic infrastructure to accelerate the rebuilding of our economy," Gachagua added.

On Wednesday, the DP was at State House during the official reception of visiting President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi.

The following day he joined Members of Parliament for the launch of the Kenya Parliamentary Conservation Climate Change Caucus in Nairobi.

The DP noted that climate change is a real threat to the country's existence.

"Therefore, every initiative geared towards supporting our programmes to combat this challenge will receive adequate support from the government," Gachagua said.

" We are happy that our lawmakers have taken the cue and are leading from the front in this battle, " he said.

On the same day, Gachagua was in Laikipia for the launch of the Sh15. 9 billion De-risiking inclusion and value enhancement of Pastoral Economies in the Horn of Africa.

" The drive project is building resilience for our livestock farmers in 21 counties from arid and semi-arid areas," Gachagua said.

Still, on Thursday, Gachagua joined Ruto in a visit to Tharaka Nithi County to commission the Chogoria Water Supply Project.

" This will see more than 30,000 people of Chogoria and its environs access clean and adequate water for domestic use," the DP said.

On Friday Gachagua was in Nakuru to officially open the ASK show where he fired warning salvos to Azimio Leader Raila Odinga.

The DP maintained that the Kenya Kwanza administration will not sit down with Raila to strike a political deal that will stop the ongoing demonstrations.

"we will continue to invest in Agriculture to sufficiently feed our nation and realize a stronger economy in afro-trade," he said.
