Three cabinet secretaries are scheduled to appear before the Senate on Wednesday to respond to questions from senators.

The trio-Moses Kuria (Trade and Investment), Davis Chirchir (Energy) and Rebecca Miano of EAC and ASALs are appearing during the morning session as per the Standing Order 51A (5).

MPs amended the Standing Order 25 (A) paving way for the Cabinet Secretaries to appear before both Houses to expound on government policies, reply to questions and provide reports concerning matters under their docket.

President William Ruto held that through this, the information gap between citizens and government can be bridged thereby enhancing trust.

CS Jumwa to file an application to be enjoined in a petition

Gender and Public Service CS Aisha Jumwa will today be filling an application to be enjoined in a suit challenging the nomination of DPP Noordin Haji as the next director of the National Intelligence Service.

Through lawyer Danstan Omari, Jumwa says the petitioner has adversely mentioned her name in the suit hence the need to defend herself.

DCI  receives 350 more officers from KPS

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations received a boost after 350 police officers joined the unit from the Kenya Police Service.

The personnel includes 21 inspectors, two sergeants, and 12 corporals while the rest are constables.

The new team is expected to undergo further specialized training before they are deployed to various sections for operations.

Atwoli backs formation of Health Service Commission

COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has supported the formation of the commission to oversee the human resource as well as end the challenges such as industrial disharmony that have been affecting the health sector.

Atwoli further said counties have demonstrated their inability to manage the affairs of the health workers and said it is time they reverted back to the national government.
