Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando now says that President William Ruto should give alternative jobs to Jubilee rebels.

He said that the former ruling party is entitled to its say and way.

"President Ruto should give Kanini (Kega), Sabina (Chege), Kamar (Margaret), and their Bunge entourage alternative jobs in UDA," Kabando said on Monday.

The former legislator said that letting Jubilee have its way and the President giving jobs to the rebels is how democracy works.

"That is how, necessarily, democracy works. You cannot milk Azimio to feed UDA and still expect to feed on Azimio's fattening fodder," Kabando added.

During the Monday NDC, EALA MP Kanini Kega and Nominated MP Sabina Chege were expelled as Jubilee lined up new National Executive Committee (NEC) members.

Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said the new members will replace rebel members who have joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

They include Jamleck Kamau (national director of elections), Maison Leshoomo (national women’s league chairperson), Agnes Thumbi (national youth league leader) and Nderitu Mureithi (business council leader).

Other nominated members are Beatrice Gabo (deputy party leader strategy), Maoka Maore (deputy party leader operations), David Manje (deputy party leader operations), Kados Muiruri (deputy party leader outreach), Saitoti Torome (chairman), Yasin Noor (deputy secretary general) and  Pauline Njoroge (deputy organising secretary).

Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta asked the rebel MPs including Sabina Chege and Kanini Kega to resign from their seats.

He said the two can no longer continue to enjoy the fruits of the party when they have betrayed its leadership.

"Just move and leave us be in peace. And those seats that we gave you, please return them and we give them to others," Uhuru said.

However, the Jubilee faction allied to Kenya Kwanza announced that it will hold a separate Jubilee National Delegates Conference.

Led  Kega, the leaders said the NDC will be held not later than July 15.
