Ruto nominates Phyllis Wagacha to SRC

President William Ruto has named Phyllis Wambui Wagacha for appointment as a member of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

A statement on Tuesday by State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said Ruto has submitted the nomination to the National Assembly for consideration.

If the House approves her nomination, Wagacha will fill the vacancy left by Dalmas Otieno.

Otieno quit in 2022 to contest for the Migori governor seat. 

The Public Service Commission had recommended Ruto nominate either Wagacha or Japhter Kiplimo Rugut.

Wagacha holds a Doctoral Degree in Information Sciences from Moi University.

In the past, she has served at Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) and the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

She also worked at the Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) and International Committee for Social Science Information and Documentation.
