President William Ruto will on Sunday head to Isiolo County for church service.

This will be the first time Ruto returns to Isiolo since the August 2022 general elections.

The President will be attending an Inter-Denominational Church Service, at Isiolo Stadium.

Ruto, who was the UDA presidential candidate won the most votes in both Isiolo North and South constituencies.

However, Ruto’s party failed to get the topmost seats of Governor, Senator, Woman rep and MPs.

The former ruling party, Jubilee, scooped all the top five elective seats in the August 2022  elections.

Former Nairobi Majority leader Abdi Hassan won the Governor seat in a hot contest with his closest rival and first Governor Godana Doyo.

Guyo garnered 28,946 votes, while Doyo garnered 26,270 votes.

The incumbent Senator Futuma Dullo was elected on the Jubilee ticket.

Dullo had 29,625 votes against her closest rival Nur Ibrahim's 23,166.

Former Isiolo North MP Samal Lomwa bounced back on a Jubilee ticket while former speaker Mohamed Tupi won the Isiolo South parliamentary seat on the same party.

Isiolo Woman representative Rahma Jaldesa lost the seat to newcomer Mumina Bonaya who managed 23,994 votes. Jaldesa had 21,702 votes.

Governor Guyo has since then declared to support President Ruto and his government.

Early this year, he said Isiolo leaders who were elected on Jubilee Party ticket will work with Ruto’s government.

“Time for politics ended in August 2022. It's now time to bring services to our people in Isiolo,” Guyo said.

He said the interests of Isiolo residents would always come first before any political alignment.
