Team Kenya captain John Lejirma seeks to defend the Ronald Marshall and Toby Gibson title—a Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) title at the par 72 Njoro Golf Club in Nakuru County.

The tournament has also attracted two foreigners from Rwanda who will be battling among the elite amateurs for the crown.

The Kenya Railways’ golfer who, two weeks ago won the Trans Nzoia Open in Kitale, will be seeking back-to-back victories at the series ahead of the 2025 Magical Kenya Open.

Lejirma, who took over the national team captaincy from Limuru's Dennis Maara, will be at the tee box at 9:40 am alongside Mercy Nyanchama and James Muigane.

Last year at the nine-hole club, Lejirma defeated the current series leader Elvis Muigua from Kiambu in the final to win the title.

The former KAGC champion Lejirma defeated Vet Lab’s Ebill Omollo while Muigua beat home player Sammy Mulama at the Golf Park Open for a final slot.

His brother Raphael Leming'an will be the first on the tee at 8.00 am alongside Kenneth Muraya. The Rwandese duo of Ebill Omollo, Felix Dusabe, and Kiambu’s Steve Orinda will be next in line.

Dusabe will lead the foreigners, who include compatriot Didas Ndindambahizi.
