KNEC releases national exams timetable

Kenya National Examination Council has released the timetable for this year's national examinations.

Knec said the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment will be done in the same period.

The rehearsal date for KCPE and KPSEA is set on Friday, October 27, 2023.

The exams for both levels will begin on Monday, October 30, and end on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

On the first day, candidates will sit for Mathematics and English papers.

On the second day, they will take Science and Swahili exams while on Wednesday, KPSEA candidates will sit for Social Studies and Creative arts.

Those sitting for their KCPE exams will take Social Studies and Religious Education. 

Knec advised the candidates to be seated at their assigned spot 15 minutes before the exam starts. 

"Morning sessions will start at 8.30 a.m," it added.

The projects for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education candidates are expected to end on July 2023.

"Schools should upload marks for subjects with a project component by April 21, 2023, for Milestone 1 and July 31, 2023, for Milestone 2 where applicable," Knec said.

These include art and design, agriculture, woodwork, metalwork building construction, and computer studies.

The rehearsals are set for Thursday, October 19, 2023.

From Monday, October 23, to Friday, October 27, the candidates will take foreign language orals, sign language practicals and music practicals.

On Wednesday, October 25, they will do a practical planning session for home science while on Monday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 31, they will take their home science practicals.

From Wednesday, November 1 to Friday, November 3, candidates will sit for different papers on the above subjects.

Overall, the exam will begin on Monday, November 6 with English and end on Friday, November 24, 2023, with physics practicals.
