Gachagua to host Colombia's VP Francia Mina for bilateral talks

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is set to host Colombia's Vice President Francia Elena Márquez Mina.

VP Mina will be on a state visit to Kenya from May 14 to 17.

The visit of the Vice President aims at enhancing the existing bilateral ties in a number of areas for the benefit of the people of Kenya and Colombia.

On Monday, the DP will hold a joint press conference with Colombia VP Francia Mina at the official Residence of the Deputy President, Karen, Nairobi from 10.00 am.

This is even as Kenya rallies a global campaign aimed at attracting quality investments.

Earlier, VP Francia Márquez called for direct flights between his country and Kenya during the International Chambers Conference.

Kenya also sought to blend Colombian tea and Coffee to develop a superior hybrid for the Caribbean market.

Data shows that Kenyan exports to Colombia in 2021 amounted to Sh150 million.

Coffee, tea and spices are the leading exports while live trees, plants, bulbs, roots and cut flowers follow.
