President William Ruto has slammed Azimio leader Raila Odinga over Tuesday's planned demonstrations.

Speaking on Tuesday in Kajiado, Ruto said Azimio should focus on bipartisan talks at Parliament.

"I want to tell them, the demonstrations they are planning in Nairobi CBD to destroy property will not work, I am the President of Kenya and if you want to continue, I will deal with you, enough is enough, it will not happen anymore," he said.

He said elections were over and Kenyans had already settled on him as their president.

"Let us stop fighting each other, let's stop demos and destroying Kenyan's properties and businesses," he added.

The President urged leaders to unite and develop Kenya.

He said If Azimio doesn't want to dialogue he will not allow them to continue destroying properties belonging to Kenyans.

He said when Azimio is ready to dialogue, they should meet in Parliament.

"It is not possible for us to allow a few people to destroy property and people's business in quest of their own interest and selfish issues, we must be a country that cares for everyone," he said.

This is after Azimio announced the return of demonstrations from May 2.

Azimio wrote to the police formally notifying them of their intended street protests on Tuesday, May 2.

In a letter to the Officer Commanding Nairobi Central Police Station, the party said it will deliver a written petition to the Office of the President at the Harambee House during the course of the march.

The letter written by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party chairman Wickliffe Oparanya said the protests will be held along the busy Moi Avenue within the Central Business District.

"In the course of the said meeting/procession, we intend to submit a written petition to Harambe House, Nairobi,'' Azimio said in the letter dated April 24.
