Sakaja to Ruto: Don't be ashamed of preaching the gospel

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has urged President William Ruto to continue leading Kenya with the gospel.

Speaking on Sunday in Donholm, the Governor told Ruto to continue using the gospel in his daily work as the President.

 

"My President, don't be ashamed of the gospel because a few people are saying its too much,' Sakaja said.

Ruto, since his election and before he assumed office as the fifth president, has been seen to be very close to the church. 

Several church leaders have been trooping to State House for prayers.

Critics argued that other faiths would feel left out by the country's leadership.

Going further, Governor Sakaja pledged his unwavering support to President Ruto.

He told the Head of State to remain focused as he had already been through worse situation before the August 2022 elections.

Sakaja explained that not everyone will always support you but he should always remember that Kenya is looking upto his leadership.

"Tumetukanwa, ameambiwa kanisa haitainia hii nchi.Dont be ashamed of the gospel. Unajua mambo yale rais amepitia. Ata mimi nilipita mengi," Sakaja added.

President Ruto has emphasized that the time is ripe for the government to close ranks with the opposition.

He stated that Kenya is one and should have only one government to deliver to its citizens.

"It's time for us to close ranks, to work together for the good of our country," Ruto said.
