Ruto to host first Iftar dinner at State House

President William Ruto will on Monday evening host his first Iftar dinner.

State House press secretary Emmanuel Talam confirmed to the Star that the dinner will be attended by state officials, different mosques in Nairobi and representatives of associations across the country.

Last week on Tuesday Ruto, his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja joined the Muslim faithful for Iftar organised by the Eastleigh Business District Association.

The event took place at KICC.

At the same time, First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto last Saturday hosted Muslim women at State House in Nairobi for Iftar, the fast-breaking evening meal during Ramadan.
