Former Defence CS Eugene Wamlawa has lauded Kenyans for showing up during the Azimio rally at Kamukunji grounds on Sunday.

Through his Twitter account on Monday, he urged Kenyans to continue fighting for their democratic rights until their demand of opening the server is met and the price of basic commodities subsidised.

“Thank you, Nairobi for demonstrating that we are not anarchists but democrats who can peacefully fight for our democratic rights under articles 35,37 and 43 of our constitution," Wamalwa said.

“Don’t put down the sufurias until servers are opened and fees, rent, prices of unga, fuel and electricity come down.”

The rally was led by opposition chief Raila Odinga accompanied by Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua of Narc Kenya and his Wiper counterpart  Kalonzo Musyoka among others.

Raila said they will resume their weekly anti-government protest if the  Kenya Kwanza administration fails to uphold their demands.

He said the mass demonstrations will run concurrently with the bipartisan parliamentary talks which seek to address the issues Azimio has raised.

The bipartisan talks are expected to take shape on Tuesday when the 14 members meet.

Both sides picked seven members each to sit in the AD-hoc committee that will midwife a solution to the issues raised by the opposition and also hammer a lasting deal.
