Opposition chief Raila Odinga charmed crowds in Embakasi East as he lead anti-government protests on Thursday.

Raila and his convoy made stops at Imara Daima and Mukuru kwa Njenga as he joined the people in singing protest songs.

While addressing the crowds, Raila sang the  'sitarudi nyuma' protest song

"Even if they send us police, we don't care and we are not scared," he said.

Raila then sang the Swahili song as protesters joined in chorus

"Hata nipigwe teke.. sitairudi nyuma, hata nitupiwe tear gas, sitarudi nyuma hata Ruto anifunge jela..." he sang.

The Azimio chief was accompanied by Martha Karua, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino among others.

It was initially reported that Raila's convoy was blocked buy police along Mombasa Road forcing them to divert to Imara Daima.

Anti-riot police have been stationed on major roads within Nairobi and along the highways as the demos take place.

Police were also spotted at Jacaranda grounds with water canons, the grounds had been had hinted as Raila's final destination for his third demo.
