"I urge all stakeholders to exercise calm and engage in dialogue to address any differences that may exist in the supreme interest of national unity and reconciliation."

Faki recalled the successful conduct of Kenya's August 2022 General Elections and the subsequent unanimous confirmation of the election outcome by the Supreme Court.

This is after Azimio called for countrywide mass action over the high cost of living among other issues.

Protesters have been holding demonstrations following the call by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

Church leaders have also urged the opposition to call off the demonstrations, calling leaders to engage in dialogue.

However, Raila has maintained the demonstrations will go on until President William Ruto addresses their demands.

Following Azimio's first protest on March 21, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja said the county lost about Sh40 million in a day.

After the Monday demos, at least 20 police officers were injured in clashes with protesters in parts of Nairobi.

Police said one of their cars was razed and two others damaged in the chaos witnessed in Kawangware, Huruma, Makongeni and Dandora areas.

Also, a mosque and a church were burnt in Kibera slums while at least three people were reportedly shot in Nyanza.
