Opposition leader Raila Odinga now says that even if harm comes his way on Monday, his spirit will live on.
Speaking in Nakuru, Raila said he is ready to pay the ultimate prize for Kenyans to have freedom.
"You can assassinate Raila Odinga physically, but you can never assassinate his ideas and the course for which he stands for. And I have said that I am prepared to pay the ultimate prize that will liberate the people of Kenya,” he said.
The former PM said their intent is not to destroy businesses as many Ruto allies have alleged.
He said the Kikuyu community voted for him overwhelmingly and they are his people.
Raila said his business and that of his supporters will be to reclaim their August 9, 2022 presidential victory, not to destroy property.
“We have no business with anyone’s business. Kikuyus voted for me. They are my people. Our business on Monday will be to get back stolen victory,” Raila said.
He called on Kikuyu business owners in the city not be fooled by the claims by Ruto's allies terming it propaganda.
He added that they are also Kenyans and their businesses will be protected.
"We only have a problem with Ruto because he did not win this election."
Raila said as Azimio, they only want to better the lives of Kenyans and the country's economy.
This, he said, Ruto has failed to do.
