A man was on Friday arraigned for allegedly beating up a woman and attempting to stab her with a kitchen knife.

This is after the man was suspecting that the woman was dating another man.

Stephen Omuse was charged before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Derrick Kuto where he denied the charges.

The accused person’s charge sheet says that he assaulted Josephine Mapesa causing harm.

According to the court papers, the woman was at her workplace when the accused person passed by and took her to his Kangemi home.

It is said he questioned her about the other relationship and assaulted her.

The woman cried out for help and the nearby neighbors intervened where the accused person was arrested and later arraigned.

In court, the accused person insisted that the complainant wanted to say something about the case.

The complainant when she was taken to the dock said that she was not ready to speak forcing the magistrate to grant the accused person a cash bail of Sh30,000.

The case will be mentioned on February 27.
