Laikipia North MP Sarah Korere has said that Azimio's anti-government rallies are only out to destabilise the country.

According to Korere, it is a course Jubilee MPs don't believe in and that is the reason they have not been attending.

The legislator said they believe in the rule of law and not hooliganism which is what has come out from the rallies.

She said they contested the election loss through the Supreme Court and a decision was made, that they abide by.

"In Jubilee, we believe in the rule of law. What our friends in Azimio are doing is not strategising, they want to destabilise this country, and we don't believe in that," Korere said on K24 TV.

"We don't believe in politics of hooliganism, that's why we have advised our people to stay away from those rallies. They are not engaging anyone they are inciting people."

Political players had raised questions on why only Jeremiah Kioni, the now-ousted secretary general attended the rallies.

The opposition has so far held five rallies, where they call for Ruto's resignation.

The first was at Kamukunji grounds, it went to Jacaranda then Kibra, before they proceeded to Mavoko.

On Sunday, Azimio held a rally in Busia. Their next rally is expected to be in Kisii.

In the rallies, the opposition claims that their victory was stolen.

They insist that Ruto rigged the August 2022 presidential polls with the help of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

"We do not recognise the Kenya Kwanza administration as a legitimate government and Ruto as the president or any official in his government," Raila said.
