President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua arrived at Nyayo stadium following the commenced prayer day.

They arrived at the stadium just before 1:00 pm.

First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto and Second first lady Dorcas Rigathi were already at the venue.

Other leaders present include Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Attorney General Justin Muturi.

President Ruto on Sunday invited Kenyans to join in prayer from wherever they are, asking for God’s intervention in bringing rain and blessings to the country.

He said the government had already set aside seeds for the planting season, but the plans cannot succeed if God does not provide rain.

Some 4.3 million Kenyans are in dire need of food assistance.

Those at risk of starvation mostly include people living in Arid and Semi-Arid Land (ASAL) counties.
