Auma Obama has reminisced on her relationship with her grandmother Mama Sarah Obama who died in 2021.

"Sitting at my grandma’s grave and I can’t stop.. because I realise again that I lost the one person, who from day one, just knew how to love me," she said on Friday.

Auma said Mama Sarah knew her and loved her for who she was.

"She just knew! I wish for all of you, that you have someone in your life, who just knows how to love you! Unconditionally," she said.

Mama Sarah Obama, the grandmother to former US President Barack Obama died at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital in Kisumu aged 99.

She had been battling diabetes for nearly two years.

According to her only surviving sister 83-year-old Mwanahawa Abdala, the late Sarah Obama was the second born in a family of 12 children.

After her demise, Auma’s biological mother also died the same year.

Keziah Onyango died in 2021 in England. She was one of the two wives of Barack Obama Snr who was the father of the former US President.

She is the mother of Malik, Auma and Mustapha Abo.
