The leaders who met President Ruto included Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Shakeel Shabir (Kisumu East, Independent) Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o (Lang’ata), Paul Abuor (Rongo), John Owino (Awendo) and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.

Nyong’o in a statement said, "Am not surprised that an amalgam of self-seeking MPs went to State House without the blessing of our progressive party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)".

He added:

"After all, in a revolutionary situation such as the one currently staring us in the face in Kenya, it is helpful for the ODM leadership to remember Lenin's warning. In a revolutionary situation, V.I. Lenin wrote: Better fewer but better."

However, Outa while speaking to the media noted that Nyong’o has too visited the state House in the recent past without getting approval from the party more the ones.

While hailing the legislature for such a bold move, Outa noted that Nyong’o should not be retrogressive in his thinking

"He should allow democracy to prevail among leaders who have chosen to follow the path of development," he said

The former senator added that more leaders from the Opposition side should join hands with the government for the smooth implementation of projects in the region.

"People of Nyanza region continue to pay taxes but fail to tap development due to bad politics every election year, hence it's high time they joined the government."

Outa said no leader should be victimized or feel isolated when they work with the ruling government.

The former Senator noted that everybody yearns for development, which can only be pursued by the elected leaders.

He added that elections were over and Ruto was the President and nobody should dictate to leaders whom to visit.

The Senator also took the opportunity to thank the Governors from the Luo Nyanza region who have continued to knock at the doors of Cabinet Secretaries in pursuit of development for their people.
