The Kajiado government has warned the public against making payments to people masquerading as leaders of the Keek-Onyokie community land trust in Kibiku, Ngong.
Lands executive Hamilton Parseina issued a public notice on Friday.
She said it has come to their attention that various individuals and entities have made payments to fraudsters masquerading as elected officials of Keek-Onyokie community trust.
“The masqueraders have continued to defraud Kenyans by purporting to sell them the said community land,” Parseina said.
The executive said the Kajiado government is inviting any member of the public who has made such payments to the alleged people, their agents or proxies to report the incident.
She urged residents to make complaints at a help desk (Luke Ndilai 0725 937 138) in the county department of Land, Physical Planning, Housing, Urban Development and Municipalities.
Parseina assured members of the public who have paid for the purported sales that they shall, together with the relevant government agencies document, investigate and assist the public to recover the said monies.
“The county government is the legal trustee under the Community Land Act of 2016 of Land registration number 12418 measuring about 1,085.5 hectares, situated in Kibiko, Kajiado county,” she said.
The executive said on December 28, 2022, the county government issued a caveat emptor prohibiting any dealings with the said land.
“There are also conservatory orders from the High Court prohibiting any dealings on the land in the case of Kajiado ELC petition NO. 6 of 2019, Philip Wantai vs Moses Parantai and eight others,” she said.
