The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has finalised preparations for by-elections to be held on December 5.
The by-elections are for Members of the National Assembly (MNA) for Kandara and Garissa Township Constituencies, Members of Senate Elgeyo Marakwet County and Members of Sheila Ward, Lamu County Assembly.
The Commission trained all election officials and will dispatch them to their various polling stations on Wednesday.
"Polling stations will be opened at 6 am on Thursday, January 5 2023 until 5 pm," IEBC said.
They said all voters in the queue at 5 pm shall be allowed to vote.
"In the unlikely event of any delays during the opening of a polling station, the time lost will be recovered before closure."
The Commission urged voters, candidates and agents are urged to maintain order at polling stations and avoid wearing or carrying campaign materials.
"To vote, one must be a registered voter in the electoral area and produce an original National ID/passport they used to register," IEBC reminded Kenyans.
The by-elections come after the appointments of Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet), Alice Wahome (Kandara) and Aden Duale (Garissa Township), into the Cabinet.
Murkomen was appointed as the Transport CS, Wahome for the Ministry of Water and Aden Duale for the Ministry of Defence.
