Speed guns installed on Nairobi Expressway to curb speeding

Moja Expressway Company said the speed guns placed at various points along the road that stretches 27 Kilometres will be operated by the police.

Speed guns have finally been installed on the Nairobi Expressway.

The new development was announced by the mother company Moja Expressway Company on Tuesday. 

The company said the guns placed at various points along the road that stretches 27 Kilometres will be operated by the police.

Moja Expressway Company also called on motorists to observe the set speed limits when using the road.

"We have installed speed guns along various points of the Nairobi Expressway, which are operated by traffic police," the company statement said.

The road that cost over Sh62 billion and famed for changing Nairobi City's skyline has had its fair share of challenges especially with motorists over speeding.

This has led to a number of accidents that have claimed lives and left scores nursing injuries.

The introduction of the speed guns is one of the measures to ensure users adhere to the set speed limit to minimise accident on the Expressway.
