An ex-convict behind a series of robberies and murders will be arraigned before the Kibera Law courts.

Peter Waithaka was arrested on Sunday evening in Eastlands area after being pursued by police officers for 48 hours.

Still in the same court, a man accused of possessing one female adult tortoise will be sentenced today.

Another man accused of defiling a 15-year-old girl will also be sentenced today.

The Kibera court will also be handling a case in which a deputy headteacher and class teacher have been accused of being in possession of examination materials. They are to be charged today.

And from the Milimani law courts, a man who allegedly strangled a commercial sex worker to death in a guest room in Nairobi over an altercation for refusing to pay Sh2,000 for the services, has been charged with murder.

The accused has since been granted a cash bail of Sh100,000 after denying the charge.

The same court will also handle the hearing of a murder case in which Dickson Murithi Ndungu is charged with stabbing Mutiso Kyalo to death in Mathare area in 2020.

The murder was committed on December 9, 2020, at around 10.30 am in Bondeni area within Mathare slums after an argument ensued between the deceased and Dickson Muriithi Ndung'u alias Rasta over unknown reasons.

Kyalo died at Kenyatta National Hospital as a result of excessive bleeding. The case will be heard by Justice Dorah Chepkwony.

The Milimani criminal division is also expected to hear the murder trial of former Kabete MP George Muchai.

Muchai, his driver Stephen Wambugu and two police constable Samwel Lekakeny and Samwel Kimathi were killed on the morning of February 7, 2015, in Nairobi.
