Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi said it's his mandate to ensure that the county health improves.

He said Kemsa exists to facilitate cost-effective medical supply solutions to meet health needs at the grassroots level.

"It's our duty to ensure that medical services in county improve and we will ensure that our people get the best services," Wamatangi said.

He said the county is ready to partner with various stakeholders to ensure proper service delivery.

Wamatangi further hailed the mass registration of NHIF saying the exercise will be conducted in all constituencies in partnership with NHIF.

He said more than 523 households will enjoy the services as the county targets more than one million residents.

The governor said the programme will boost the county's economy as it will ensure residents are in good health and are productive.

He said the mass registration of NHIF will bring to an end fundraising aimed at clearing hospital bills accrued by relatives.

Wamatangi said the county administration is targeting families being led by orphaned children, those living with their grandchildren, people with disabilities and those struggling with chronic illnesses.

Kiambu Health executive Dr Joseph Murega said the programme will help low end earners in the county.

He said the programme is part of Wamatangi's manifesto and electorates should support him.

"We have started the campaign and we will continue reaching out to as many households as possible," Murega said.
