Former Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi has told Parliament that she is worth Sh194 million.

The wealth, she noted, includes a residential house in Karen worth Sh120 million, a house in Wajir (Sh15M), 200 camels who value is Sh10 million and 350 herds of cows with a market value of Sh14 million.

The former lawmaker also owns five vehicles with estimated value of Sh20 million.

Gedi is appearing for vetting before the National Assembly Finance and National Planning committee.

She is among the seven nominees to the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA).

Others are Benedict Mutiso, George Jalang’o, Hadija Juma,  Isabel Waiyaki, Jonas Kuko and Koitamet ole Kina.

Earlier, Gedi dismissed claims that she does not have a degree saying she graduated with Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources after attaining a Diploma and Higher Diploma in the same field.

She was responding to a petition memorandum that claimed she had no degree given she scored D at KCSE.

She also informed the Committee that she resigned from the governing council of Jubilee party when she applied for the position

.“Before I even applied for this position on November 15, I resigned from the Jubilee Party and I have a letter from the Registrar of Political Parties,” she said.

The law states bars anyone holding a position in the National Governing Council of a political party from becoming a Commissioner at the Commission.
